Meet Ruby,
UPDATE 3-15-25
She is blossoming into a girl with much joy & love. Her two best times of the day – dinner time & when her foster mom returns home. She’s a little hesitant to go outside in the yard or on a walk but with some coaxing, will be right beside the resident dogs. She does well with dogs & cats. She’s a very gentle soul. She hasn’t been around children in her foster home, but she probably would do well with older quieter children.
Ruby is totally vetted and ready for her own home.
UPDATE:
Foster Mom: Ruby can be very fearful and will run to me and then the next moment run away. I still need to leash her to go outside and she is definitely not housetrained. Have had difficulties getting her to eat.
Fence required. She needs a quiet home with a family who has previous experience with puppy mill dogs who need to learn to trust. Good with dogs & cats. Recommend that home have a confident dog to help her. Older children only.
Ruby is a very friendly active 8 year old red cockalier (cocker/cavalier). She was part of an Amish release and was adopted out by the shelter but returned because she sheds. She is spayed & vetted and rides wonderfully in a car. She seems to love everyone. A fence is recommended but not required. As she is spayed, we will consider all applications, not just local provided you are amenable to driving to our location outside Columbus Ohio.
